Who Andrew Albert is
Andrew Albert was a Canadian stand-up comedian, born in New Brunswick, who in his later years mostly called Montreal home. His stand-up career began in 1997 on a dare at Yuk Yuk's in Windsor, Ontario, where he took second place in the club's annual amateur contest, and he went on to headline across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom with a tell-it-like-it-is style.
He performed twice at Montreal's Just for Laughs and at the Boston Comedy Festival, was heard on radio morning shows, XM and CBC, and was featured in CBC television's stand-up showcase The New West; he was also a sketch writer, performer and actor, and a sommelier since 2008. He died in August 2021, aged 46, and was mourned by the Montreal comedy community.
