Dean Gaines
Who Dean Gaines is
Dean Gaines is a veteran stand-up comedian who started out in comedy clubs on the Southeast circuit, in the era of the Punchline in Atlanta, and went on to become one of the comics working the cruise-ship circuit. In February 2026 he and fellow cruise-ship comedian Lowell Sanders were guests on Brad Sanders's podcast This Comedy Life, where the two 'kings of the seas' talked about ships becoming comedy's largest chain of venues, the pressure of playing to the same guests all week and the number of different sets the job demands.
His act takes in impressions, among them Don Knotts and President Obama, in sets he posted on his YouTube channel in 2015. In May 2026 Dry Bar Comedy posted his clean set You'd Think Old People Would Act Faster on its YouTube channel.
