Tom Achilles
Who Tom Achilles is
Tom Achilles is an alternative stand-up comedian, writer, filmmaker and actor from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, based in Brooklyn, whose act moves as far from set-up and punchline as a comedian can and still get laughs. After studying communications at American University he taught at Washington Improv Theater and performed with its house ensembles, and in New York he has performed at Joe's Pub, The Bell House, Union Hall, Littlefield, The Slipper Room and Ars Nova.
He released the comedy album Guillotine in 2022 and the special Mindbender, produced by Pure Chaos Comedy, in 2025, and co-hosts Tom & Will Start A Podcast with the comedian Will Purpura. His festival selections include the Bend Comedy Festival and Philly Fringe's Cannonball Festival, his short film Gone won Best Experimental Short at the AltFF Alternative Film Festival, and his humor writing has appeared in McSweeney's.
