Who Markus Barth is

Markus Barth is a German stand-up comedian and author from Franconia, billed as the master of 'maximal-minimalist' stand-up: one stage, one microphone, and his own life story, the day's news and his own mishaps turned into jokes, with plenty of chat with the audience. Since March 2024 he has hosted the BR television show Kabarett aus Franken, which presents comedians and Kabarett artists from Franconia, Bavaria and beyond, and he co-hosts Wilde Geschichten, a true dating podcast, with Nina Goldberg. His live show is Pures Gold, and his books include Der Genitiv ist dem Streber sein Sex, Mettwurst ist kein Smoothie, Soja Steak an Vollmondwasser and Zwanzigtausend Reiseleiter.
