Who Joe Rooney is
Joe Rooney is an Irish stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, musician and podcaster, best known as Father Damo in Father Ted, who also played Timmy Higgins in the RTÉ sitcom Killinaskully. He has performed from Moscow to Muscat, at Glastonbury, the Kansas City Irish Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, where his shows include Further Ted (2016), Shut Your Cakehole (2019) and a celebration of Father Ted in 2022 and 2024. He hosts the podcast Podarooney, talking with actors and comedians, and co-hosts Talking Ted, a Father Ted podcast, with Patrick McDonnell.
