About Mike James

Mike James is a clean stand-up comedian who works comedy clubs, cruise ships, churches and corporate events, with an act he calls clean enough for grandma and sharp enough for the comedy club.

He found the job he wanted, making people laugh, while serving in the U.S. Navy, and his two Dry Bar Comedy specials are Married & Confused and Southern Comfort. His credits also include Comedy Central and The Tonight Show.

Mike James is based in Arizona and performs nationwide, his honors include Corporate Comedian of the Year, and his comedy has also been heard on SiriusXM.

Alongside his stand-up he brings 20 years of professional improv performing and teaching to improv and sketch comedy workshops, and he hosts Friendly Feud, his own game show based on Family Feud.

He was the cut-up through his years aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer during the Cold War and Desert Shield, and his clean act about marriage, family and getting older also plays 55+ communities.

His sets are 100% profanity-free and family-friendly but written for adults; he performs regularly in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler and Tucson, and also travels to New Mexico, the Dallas area and Washington State.

In Married & Confused, his Dry Bar Comedy special of about 24 minutes, he puts his life and marriage on display, from half-way home improvement to high-heels hearsay.

In Southern Comfort, his other Dry Bar Comedy special, he takes on misconceptions of tallness and people who don't snore.
