Who Gastor Almonte is

Gastor Almonte is an award-winning stand-up comedian, storyteller, writer and host from Brooklyn, New York. He has appeared on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening and on HBO, Peacock, VICE and PBS, Time Out named him one of its New Comedy Obsessions, and he won a Webby Award in 2020 for his appearance on WORLD Channel's Stories from the Stage. He hosts The War Report podcast with Shalewa Sharpe, and his debut album, Immigrant Made, reached number one on the iTunes, Amazon Music and Google Play charts; a track from it was played on SiriusXM's Raw Dog Comedy channel in June 2021.

Gastor Almonte recorded his debut special, Immigrant Made, at The Tank in New York; the album came out on 800 Pound Gorilla Records on 5 April 2019 and the self-funded video special on Amazon on 12 April 2019. He told stories on Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening in the episodes Family, on 9 December 2016, and Youth, on 22 February 2019.

He is a producer and board member of the science-storytelling nonprofit Story Collider, and he has played the New York Comedy Festival, the People's Improv Theater's SoloCom and the Cinderblock Comedy Festival.
