Drew Lynch, raised in Las Vegas, where he studied at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, moved to Los Angeles at nineteen, and in the early 2010s toured clubs and colleges with fellow comic Samuel J. Comroe.

After Bo Burnham saw a video of one of his sets, he invited Lynch to open at The Vic Theatre in Chicago on his 2013 what. tour; Lynch did 500 sets in 2014 alone, and in 2015 finished second on the tenth season of America's Got Talent.
