Their stand-up
Ayanna Dookie got her start telling jokes in the Black Engineers Society student lounge at the University of Maryland, and for years worked as an engineer by day while performing stand-up at night. A sketch she wrote in an Upright Citizens Brigade class, You're Not Vegan!?, was chosen for NBC's 2016 Scene Showcase, and a second UCB writing class on a diversity scholarship led to her seat in the writers' room of BET's 50 Central.
